We took a family shopping trip a few days ago, where we split up and then did some shopping for each other. On the way home David mentioned to Belle that she could help him wrap the presents that they got for me.
"Ok Daddy--and Mommy--you CAN'T look! It's a surprise! I'll be really careful, Daddy and hide the ***** (name of present) behind my back so Mommy won't see--and then we'll wrap the ***** (name of other present). And we'll keep it a surprise!"
David and I laughed all the way home. She never did notice that she let it slip--and I plan on being VERY surprised to see my gifts. She is discovering the joy of giving and secrets and we aren't about to let on! But you must admit--HILARIOUS!!
